Lexus is a division of Toyota. The Lexus GS300 was introduced to the United States in 1993 and was equipped with a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder engine that produced 220-horsepower and 220 foot-pounds of torque. The 1993 GS300 featured a four-speed automatic transmission, and came standard with power doors and locks. Removal of the door panel on the 1993 GS300 requires removal of fragile electronic and mechanical components.

Door Panel Removal
- 1
Open the door you wish to replace on the GS300. Remove the upper window garnish or speaker cover, if equipped, using a flat-head screwdriver to pry the piece off gently. Remove the screw from the center of the door handle bezel, using a Phillips screwdriver.
2Insert your flat-head screwdriver between the top of the door handle and the bezel, and pry outward gently. Insert the screwdriver between the bottom of the door handle and the bezel, and pry outward gently. Insert your screwdriver at the front of the bezel, between the bezel and the door panel. Pry gently rearward to release the handle and bezel from the door panel. Remove the door handle bezel by hand.
3Insert your screwdriver between the forward edge of the window switch panel, and the door puller panel. Pry the front edge of the switch panel upward to dislodge the clip from the inside of the door panel. Pull the switch panel up and out of the door panel. Remove the electrical connectors from the back of the switch panel, by hand.
4Remove the screw cap from the rearward facing side of the door panel, with your flat-head screwdriver. Remove the single screw from the rear side of the door panel, with your Phillips screwdriver. Remove the three bottom mounting screws. Remove the two door puller screws; one in the bottom side of the door puller and one in the center hole where the switch panel was. Remove the single front-mounted screw from the circular door vent hole.
5Insert a trim panel tool between the door panel and the door frame. Pry gently to separate the door panel from the mounting body clips. Maneuver the tool around the entire door panel, until the panel is loose from the door frame. Pull the entire door trim panel upward to remove it from the door.
Door Panel Installation
- 6
Install the door panel downward and onto the door frame. Use a rubber mallet or the side of your hand to gently tap the door panel onto the body clips. Install the single rearward, three bottom, and single forward mounted door panel screws. Tighten all of the screws snug with your Phillips screwdriver. Install the door puller handle screw into the bottom of the door puller handle, and through the center of the handle. Tighten the screws snug.
7Install the electrical connectors onto the rear of the window switch panel. Install the panel into the door frame starting at the rearward edge of the switch panel. Push the entire switch panel downward until it locks into the door panel.
8Slide the door handle bezel over the door handle. Pull the door handle outward to accommodate the bezel. Push the bezel rearward then into the door panel. Push the forward edge of the bezel into the door panel, then push the upper lip into the door panel. Insert the center door bezel screw into the door handle bezel. Tighten the screw snug with your Phillips screwdriver.
9Install the upper speaker cover or window garnish by hand. Place the piece over the upper forward area of the door panel, and push it horizontally straight onto the door frame, until it clicks and locks into place.
