Freeholders in Burlington, NJ voted yesterday to purchase two 2006 Chevrolet Silverado hybrids for use in the parks division. The Chevy Silverado hybrid is a mild hybrid, but is well suited to the type of work in a parks division, i.e slow driving in city areas.
The freeholders are purchasing at a discounted rate through the state's cooperative purchasing and contract program. Plus the county can apply for rebates from the federal government and the state's Clean Cities Alternative Fuel Vehicle program.
