DIY: Hail Damage Repair

If your car is parked outside, it can be left vulnerable to all kinds of acts of mother nature; hail damage is one of them. After a hail storm, many vehicles, homes and other outdoor property is subject to severe dents. If the damage is mild, it may be possible to repair it yourself. The application of heat may be sufficient to get rid of remnants of hail damage.

Instructions

    1

Park your car in the sun. The heat from the sun's UV rays can help draw out the dents naturally. This method is heavily dependent on the climate you live in, and may not be possible if the sun does not shine.

    2

Put your gloves on and heat the hail damaged areas with a hairdryer. While the area is still hot, place a wet cloth on top of it to help the metal pop back into place.

    3

Cover excess dents with aluminum foil. Light a match and heat for approximately 30 seconds. Remove the foil and spray with CO2

    4

Take your car to the repair shop if there is any leftover damage that your heating methods did not take care of.
