Deployed Marine Surprises Sister on Her Wedding Day

Daniel Atwood is a Marine currently on deployment. On May 18, his sister Sarah got married in Charlotte, North Carolina. She thought that her brother wouldn't be at the ceremony – just the night before, her mother read a letter from Daniel saying he wasn't able to get leave to attend.

Then, on the day of the wedding, he showed up.

Sarah, who refers to her brother as her best friend, cried the night before her wedding because of his absence. So when Daniel got a last-minute day's leave to attend the wedding and came striding across the lawn in his uniform, it was quite a sight for her.

"I was kind of confused," Sarah says in the video. "Because people were, like, acting really funny ... Everyone was looking around the corner, and I was just, like, 'Is something wrong and they're just not trying to tell me so I don't stress out?'"
