A recent chat session with Boniface, Chevy Volt director of design and the editor in chief at eGMCarTech.com revealed some interesting details on the Volt.
The Volt interior should be 'innovative and compelling.' Like most hybrids, it's not enough to have a different type of engine. Auto manufacturers want you to know you're buying the newest car, so you should expect all the bells and whistles you would ask for.
The plug-in Volt will come with 'iPod connectivity, USB audio ports, Bluetooth and such' according to Boniface.
And, of course, the low rolling resistance tires are a must for a car striving so hard to increase it's electric power mode.
As for storage, the rear seat will fold down creating a cargo area.
And for those of you who are worried about GM losing money on the Volt, Boniface noted that "We have learned efficient ways to treat the underbody, spoiler, side mirrors, etc., which can be adapted to other programs."
For those of you wondering what the Volt will look like, some teaser pictures were released. And now, a video of the demonstration vehicle on the set of Transformers 2 was leaked.
