The Bayou 220 is a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle manufactured by Kawasaki from 1989 until 2000. The choke, which is connected to the carburetor through shift linkage on the Bayou 220, helps to start the vehicle's motor. If the idle speed is off or the engine seems to suddenly die when the choke is applied, it is a sign that the choke and idle speed require adjustments. The Bayou 220 comes with an idle adjustment screw you can set to adjust the idle speed and choke.
Instructions
- 1
Start the Bayou and allow it to run for 10 minutes so it can warm up.
2Turn the idle adjustment screw all the way to the left or until the engine sputters out and dies.
3Set the choke to the full choke position and re-start the vehicle.
4Insert the screwdriver into the back of the idle adjustment screw and turn it in 1/8-turn increments until the idle runs smooth and evenly.
