The blower motor resistor in a 2005 Nissan Armada is designed to control the speed of the blower fan by varying the voltage to the blower motor. The blower motor resistor is roughly the size of a credit card and located next to the blower motor. It is a transistorized circuit, but like anything that provides resistance to drop voltage, the side effect is heat. The blower motor resistor will burn out much like a headlight over time.
Instructions
- 1
Remove the under-dash concealment cover using a nut driver to gain access to the blower motor resistor.
2Unplug the blower motor resistor. Remove the screws securing the resistor using a nut driver. Lower the resistor out of the housing.
3Insert the new resistor and tighten the screws. Plug the electrical connector into the blower motor resistor.
4Install the under-dash concealment cover by pushing it up into place and aligning the holes. Install and tighten the screws with the nut driver.
