While many consider the F250 as nothing more than a work truck, the fact is that Ford has angled the F-Series of trucks toward comfort since the early 1990s. The 2003 Ford F250 offered buyers a variety of interior trim packages, several with Captain's chairs for the driver and front passenger. Captain's chairs offer more comfort than bench seats and provide the occupant with personalized seat adjustments, including a headrest. If the headrest or seat cover wears out, you'll need to remove the headrest in order to perform any repairs.

Instructions

    1

Sit in the Captain's chair that has the headrest you wish to remove.

    2

Push the headrest release button -- located on the side of the hole where the headrest mounting stud enters the top of the seat back -- in toward the center of the hole and hold it there.

    3

Slide your hand under the center of the headrest. Lift upward on the headrest until both mounting studs clear the top of the seat back. Take your finger off the headrest release button to complete removal.

    4

Align the headrest mounting studs with the mounting holes in the top of the seat back. Push the headrest release button in with one hand and lower the headrest to the desired position. Let go of the headrest release button.
