Directions to Install a Car Window on a Toyota Corolla

Installing a new window in its regulator is important for any car if the old glass was broken. On a Toyota Corolla, the regulator is often a fixed component of the door, but it is possible to install new glass in the window. Once inside the glass, the window is also protected by a plate covering the access hole along with the door's trim panel. The exact process can vary depending on the exact year of the Corolla.

Instructions

    1

Lower the window glass down into the door through the upper slot and position it within the regulator inside the door, lining up the glass mounting holes with the holes in the regulator and door.

    2

Fasten the glass within the regulator with its mounting bolts and your wrench.

    3

Install and connect the inner weatherstrip within the window opening in the door.

    4

Install the access plate onto the door's access hole using its three screws -- two screws at the bottom of the plate and one on the plate's upper tab -- and your screwdriver.

    5

Stick the plastic watershield onto the door using its adhesive.

    6

Connect the door inner trim panel, fastening all its clips to the door and connecting all its screws within the panel's door handles. Connect the door handle trim panels.

    7

Install the window controls to the door -- either the power switch plate with its electrical connector or the manual crank with its clip.
