You have spent hours and hours deliberating on your colour choice of tiles, paint and soft furnishings but it’s all too easy to over look the importance of lighting in your kitchen and bathroom.
Lighting can dramatically transform the look of your room with the flick of a switch. Thought should be given to it at the specification stage of designing your new kitchen or bathroom, not after it has been installed as this could be too late. Lighting effects can highlight your beautiful new kitchen and bathroom, give you extra light in order to maximise the usability of your work surfaces and create a wonderful ambience for relaxing and for entertaining guests.
Lighting has evolved over the last ten years from the flickering, rather unflattering fluorescent lights, to the ‘I need replacing quite often’ halogen spot lights and capsules. Three cheers then for LED lights, around ten times more efficient than incandescent bulbs and using fewer materials, these lights do more with less. They last a lot longer than a traditional bulb, some even up to 50,000 hours - that’s over ten years worth if turned on for 8 hours everyday. No more buying and changing light bulbs.
