YouTube celebrates its 8th birthday this year and now has over 800 million+ monthly unique users, incredibly YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world bigger than Bing, Yahoo, ASK and Yahoo all combined. If you are not already using it you should seriously be considering creating your own channel to promote your organisation and blog - here are my five top tips to get started:

- Create your own  YouTube  ('TV') channel - Very simple and easy to do and above all FREE! Make sure you keep it separate to your personal account if you have one.

- You can create you first video very cheaply by using an iPad, simply download 'iMovie' for a small charge of £2.99 or browse the Android Play store which offers lots of free 'create your own' apps to choose from. Alternatively hook up with a professional local videographer, prices usually start from around £300 for a complete production check out the guys at http://www.shutterboxfilms.co.uk/  or http://www.vidpr.com/

- Impact. Stephen Graver TV is a perfect example of client testimonials http://www.youtube.com/user/TheCraftsmanship persuading your client to participate could be tricky - a voice over of the project from them would be a good alternative.

- Always add a catchy relevant title to your video, use plenty of relevant hash tags and don't go off subject. Be careful the background music you choose does not carry royalties as your video may not play. Add the YouTube logo to your website with a link to your YouTube channel.

- Share! I have seen so many amazing productions with only a handful of views. Use Twitter, Facebook, Blogger and your own website to share your new production – don’t just stop at creating your wonderful video and posting it on YouTube, your hard work will be wasted if no-one sees it!
