Last night I attended the opening of Axor’s beautiful new showroom, DuriniQuindici. Set in the heart of Milans’ most fashionable shopping district, it showcases Axor’s latest WaterDream series designed by Front and Nendo. Nendo’s LampShower playfully combines water and light, while dynamic Swedish design team Front have designed a range of new industrial charm showers. I met the Front team, who are actually based in London, and spoke to them about their amazing WaterDream creation.
Axor’s bespoke range was on display, I totally love the 12 different finishes that are now available, my favourite being the brushed black chrome.
I also met Phillipe Grohe, who heads up the Axor brand, and his brother Richard who heads up the Hansgrohe brand. Phillipe Grohe spoke in great detail about different cultures bathing experiences, with a primary focus on Japan, which was really interesting. I chatted to Richard Grohe about interesting new developments in bathrooms, with the introduction of glass for taps and showers coming up in the near future. He also mentioned exciting developments in kitchen taps too, so watch this space!
