Given the high demand for hybrids in the US, it's hard to imagine Toyota reducing the pricetag on any of their hybrid cars. But in Canada Toyota is doing just that, reducing the price on 3 Toyota and 8 Lexus models. 4 of the models selected for price reductions are hybrids.
"Today we are reducing the MSRP on the Toyota Prius, all Lexus hybrid models, and many other models that earn high marks for fuel efficiency and emissions performance, making it easier for Canadians to meet their transportation needs in a fuel-friendly, environmentally sensitive vehicle," said Stephen Beatty, Toyota Canada's managing director.
The new MSRPs for the 11 vehicles affected, with cost reductions in parentheses, are as follows:

- 2009 RX series: $42,950 ($1,400)
- 2008 RX 400 hybrid: $53,650 ($1,400)
- 2008 GS series: $51,000 ($1,900)
- 2008 GX series: $65,800 ($2,700)
- 2008 GS 450 hybrid: $69,200 ($1,900)
- 2008 SC series: $78,200 ($7,900)
- 2008 LS series: $80,100 ($5,700)
- 2008 LS 600 hybrid: $119,400 ($6,000)
