OnStar is a communications system that provides a wide array of services, including: automatic crash response, emergency dispatch, turn-by-turn navigation, vehicle diagnostics, etc. Chevrolet provides the hardware side of this feature on your 2010 Camaro free of charge. It is your responsibility to pay the subscription fee and provide your personal information. Even without an active subscription, some drivers may find its features slightly invasive, and disabling the system is the only way to sever the ties completely between your Camaro and the OnStar system.

Instructions

    1

Open the drivers side door and leave it open. Look on the end of the dashboard and find the pull cup -- a small hole that you can fit a few fingers into.

    2

Insert your fingers in the pull cup and pull outward firmly to disengage the panel on the end of the dashboard, exposing the fuse panel behind it.

    3

Look at the first fuse from the left in the second row of fuses from the bottom of the fuse panel: this is the OnStar communications fuse. It has 7.5 amps and has "F14" stamped next to it on the fuse block.

    4

Grab the outer edges of the OnStar communications fuse and pull it outward with a slight wiggling motion to remove it.

    5

Reposition the panel on the end of the dashboard, lining up the clips on the rear of the panel with the slots on the dashboard. Press the panel firmly onto the end of the dashboard to engage the retaining clips.

    6

    Close the drivers side door.
