Installing a blower motor in your Dodge vehicle is a little complicated, as the blower on Dodge vehicles is situated behind the dashboard. In order to access the motor, partially disassemble the dashboard. Thankfully, it is a straightforward process that takes a while, because it involves removing so many screws. Expect to spend well over an hour simply accessing the blower motor and then another hour reassembling the dashboard.

Instructions

    1

Set the Dodge in park on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.

    2

Open the hood of your Dodge vehicle, attach the hood support and disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench.

    3

Go inside the vehicle on the driver's side and use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the steering column cover. Remove the single screw from the wiper control arm and remove the arm.

    4

Remove the four screws from the left-side kick panel and pull off the kick panel. Remove the screws from the center distribution duct.

    5

Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screw from the ashtray and remove the ashtray from the vehicle.

    6

Open the glove compartment. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws from the top of the glove compartment. This allows access to the blower.

    7

Disconnect the blower lead wires and the two vacuum lines from the air door actuator.

    8

Use a Phillips screwdriver and remove the two screws at the top of the blower housing, the five screws from around the housing and the three screws attaching the motor to the blower itself. Remove the blower motor from the vehicle.

    9

Install a new blower motor and reinstall the screws. Reassemble the blower unit and reinstall all of its screws.

    10

Reconnect the hoses and wires and reattach the glove compartment to the vehicle. Reinstall the ashtray and reattach all of the screws. Reassemble the wiper control arm and the steering column. Reconnect the negative battery cable and close the hood.
