The Warrior is an all terrain vehicle (ATV) manufactured by Yamaha. Although the Yamaha ATV comes equipped with some standard gauges like a fuel gauge, oil level light and speedometer, many ATV owners, especially those in racing leagues, prefer to install additional gauges that combine a number of functions into a single unit. For example, the Vapor Tachometer, manufactured by Trail Tech, combines both a tachometer (which measures engine revolutions per minute) and a temperature gauge. Installation of such gauges takes approximately one to two hours.

Instructions

    1

Use a coin to open the battery door on the back of the gauge, slip the watch battery in, close the door and tighten the door with the coin.

    2

Attach the bar mount bracket handlebar of the ATV. Slip the retaining nut and bolt through the bracket holes and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver.

    3

Run the RPM sensor wire from the designated port on the gauge to the spark plug wire. Wrap the sensor wire around the spark plug wire to secure it. This wire will display RPMs on the tachometer.

    4

Loosen one end of the ATV's radiator hose. Pull it free from the radiator and pull the clamp off. Slip the gauge's sensor band around the radiator hose then replace the hose clamp. Slide the hose back onto the radiator then tighten it down with the screwdriver. Plug the other end of the sensor wire into the port on the back of the gauge. This will display engine temperature.
