Ignition coils on a 2006 Toyota Corolla help ignite the engine when it is starting. If you are having trouble removing the ignition coils, it is because they do not come out by pulling on them. There is a small bolt for every ignition coil that keeps it locked into position. As long as the bolt is in its place, the ignition coil is stuck.

Instructions

    1

Unscrew the engine cover that protects the cylinders using the adjustable wrench. Remove the engine cover.

    2

Locate the ignition coils on top of the cylinders. Once you have found the coils, look for the bolt beside the coil. This bolt secures the coil.

    3

Unscrew the bolt using an adjustable wrench.

    4

Slide a new coil into place.

    5

Screw the bolt back into place and reattach the engine cover.
