A damaged front passenger window in your 2000 Isuzu Trooper can reduce the visibility for the driver when looking to turn corners or checking for traffic in an adjacent lane. While the repair of the window is usually carried out by a professional mechanic, you can install the window in your Trooper if you have basic auto repair knowledge and the appropriate tools. The procedure is fairly straightforward and can be completed in a relatively short amount of time.

Instructions

    1

Open up the passenger door. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws which hold the door panel in place. Lift the door panel away from the door.

    2

Remove the screws which keep the door handle trim in place. Pull the door handle and the trim away from the door.

    3

Reach in the gap left by the removed door handle and disconnect the two door handle linkage arms with your fingers. Pull both of the arms out of the vehicle.

    4

Move the window regulator to its lowest possible position within the door frame. Slide the pane of glass into the door frame. Fit the glass on the regulator.

    5

Line up the hex bolt holes on the regulator, and use a hex wrench to connect the regulator to the window. Reattach the rest of the door assembly previously removed, following the removal steps in reverse order.
