Over time, humidity can wreak havoc on your car's headlamp covers. When this happens, plastic covers can become foggy and turn yellow. This can reduce the performance of your headlamps and become dangerous in extreme cases. Luckily there is a simple fix to this problem that you can do at home. All of the materials needed can be purchased at an auto parts store.

Remove your foggy headlamp cover. Carefully follow the instruction in your car's manual.
2Fill the bucket with clean water.
3Dip the 600-grit sandpaper in the water and wet sand the inside of the lens. Continue to sand until the surface is smooth.
4Wet sand with 800 grit-sandpaper until smooth.
5Wet sand with 1,000-grit sandpaper until smooth.
6Wet sand with 1,200-grit sandpaper. This grade of sandpaper will actually begin to polish the headlamp.
7Buff the inside of headlamp with plastic polish.
8Put your polished headlight cover back on your vehicle.
