Philadelphia + NYC

Every year, my family likes to take a trip....this summer since half of our family will be back east, we are going to Philadelphia, New York City, and upstate NY (Niagara Falls etc..)

We've all been to NYC and have done most of the touristy things before, so this time we're looking to mix it up. Same with Philadelphia (although less acquainted).. we're looking to fill our days with must see sights, adventure, eats and treats, and shops. Any suggetions? I would love to hear about any of your favorite stops.
