How to Fit a Range Rover Windscreen

The windscreen in your Range Rover must be kept in the best possible condition to ensure perfect visibility when taking your vehicle out on the road. If your windscreen becomes damaged or cracked, you should look to remove it in order to have it repaired or replaced. You can pick up the tools you need for the job from your local auto store.

Instructions

    1

Use a sharp blade to make an incision in the rubber trim at the top of the windscreen. Cut away the rubber trim, cutting it in a clockwise direction. Pull the trim away from the windscreen as you remove it. All of the trim must be removed.

    2

Enter the drivers side of the vehicle. Carefully press the windscreen in an outwards direction until it begins to come away from the frame. Have someone on hand outside the vehicle to help support the weight.

    3

Place a thin later of windscreen sealant around the edges of the windscreen. Attach the gasket to the bottom of the windscreen so that it is at the dead center. The heavy part of the gasket should be on the inside with the slit on the outside.

    4

Tie a nylon cord around the outer groove of the windscreen. Lift the windscreen in to place on the frame of the vehicle. Press the windscreen against the frame for a few minutes to allow the seal to set in place.

    5

Enter the vehicle and pull the nylon cord across the bottom of the windscreen. This will allow the rubber lip to set in place.
