In 1997, Infinity dove into the luxury SUV market with the Pathfinder-based QX4. The debut QX7 came fitted with a 3.3-liter V-6 engine, which pushed out 168 horsepower and 196 foot-pounds of torque. Being a luxury vehicle meant that it came standard with high-end features, such as leather interior, power seats and keyless entry. The keyless entry feature uses radio frequencies and a rolling code to unlock the doors from a distance. When you replace the key fob, you must program it to the QX4 before locking or unlocking the doors using the new fob.

Instructions

    1

Sit in the driver's side of the QX4, then close and lock all of the doors.

    2

Insert and remove the key in the ignition a total of six times within a 10-second time frame. The hazard lights flash, indicating the SUV is in programming mode.

    3

Insert the key in the ignition and turn the ignition to "Acc." Press any button on the keyless entry remote. The hazard lights flash indicating you successfully programmed the remote.

    4

Program additional remotes, by pressing the "Lock" or "Unlock" button on the driver's door and then press any button on the remote needing programmed. The hazard lights flash, indicating you programmed the remote correctly.

    5

Unlock and open the driver's door to exit programming mode.
