When you lose the keys to your vehicle or your keyless remote stops working, it is a major inconvenience. GMC owners of the 1995 Jimmy have a keyless remote fob with their car keys. The keyless remote allows you to open your trunk and control your locking mechanisms from a distance. While you can still drive your car and access all doors with just the key, not having your keyless remote can be a problem and replacing the keyless remote is a must.

Contact any GMC dealership to order a keyless remote or order one from a reputable online key company. Call your local locksmith or GMC dealership to inquire about reputable companies if you are unaware of any. Since the 1995 model keyless remote is not a transponder remote, you dont have to go through the process of having your cars computer reprogrammed at the dealership; you can do it on your own.
2Pay for the keyless remote and get into your car. Remove the door panel from your car. You should go home before your start the process of programming your own keyless remote.
3Locate two red wires in the lock control panel behind the door and connect a section of wire to the two pins located near the red wires. Any wire will do. All you have to do is wrap it around the two pins to connect them. Once you do this correctly, your Jimmys doors will lock and unlock on their own.
4Push any of the buttons on the remote and wait for the locks to cycle through the locking process once again. This indicates you have programmed your remote to control your locks. Remove the wire from the pins and replace the door panel.
