Many considered the 2000 Buick LeSabre the entry-level full size luxury sedan in General Motor's fleet. The 2000 model was the first of the ninth generation of LeSabre's and originally marketed as the LeSabre 2000. Many of the features carried over from the higher-end eighth generation LeSabres, including leather interior trim and many power options. The 2000 LeSabre has two sets of brake lights: two on the outer-rear corners and two on the trunk lid. If any of these bulbs have burned out, you should replace them immediately.

Instructions

Corner Brake Lights

    1

Open the LeSabre's trunk. Unscrew the plastic wing nuts from the rear trunk wall. Pull the rear trim cover out of the way to expose the back of the tail light assembly.

    2

Remove the two tail lamp retaining nuts using a 10-mm socket and socket wrench. Pull the tail lamp away from the back of the LeSabre. Turn the socket counterclockwise to release it from the tail lamp.

    3

Pull the old bulb out of the socket and discard it. Plug the new 3357 bulb into the socket and insert the socket back into the tail lamp assembly. Rotate the socket clockwise to lock it in place.

    4

Push the tail lamp assembly back into position. Reinstall the retaining nuts with the socket and wrench. Reinstall the trunk trim and plastic wing nuts.

Trunk Mount Light

    5

Open the trunk. Remove the seven nuts holding the trunk mount light assembly to the trunk lid using the socket wrench and 10-mm socket. The assembly is one entire piece that runs the width of the trunk lid, so the entire thing requires removal to expose the bulbs.

    6

Remove the light assembly from the trunk lid. Push the retaining tab on the bulb socket in and then turn the socket counterclockwise to remove it. Remove the old bulb and discard it.

    7

Insert a new 3357 bulb into the socket. Push the socket into the light assembly and rotate it clockwise to snap it into place.

    8

Place the light assembly back onto the trunk lid. Reinstall the seven retaining nuts using the socket wrench and 10-mm socket. Close the trunk.
