The doorjamb light switch on your 1998 Isuzu Trooper controls the interior lighting of your vehicle. The switch is located on the side edge of the door of your Trooper, just below the metal snap-lock. It should only take you about 15 minutes to replace the switch.

    Lift up the Trooper's hood and locate the battery in the engine compartment.

    Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery using a socket wrench.

    Open the door and remove the two screws from the switch with a Phillips screwdriver.

    Pry the switch out using a flathead screwdriver. Remove it from the Trooper.

    5

    Install the replacement switch by pressing it into the door where the initial switch was situated. Reattach the two screws to secure the switch. Reconnect the negative terminal to the battery and close the hood.
