The Souriau Indiana 2440 is a digital inlet analyzer used to balance motorcycle carburetors. If the carburetor idles too high or too low, or doesn't seem to get the proper amount of pickup during acceleration, it's a sign that it may need to be balanced. The Souriau Indiana 2440 analyzer is powered directly by the motorcycle battery and connected to the carburetor port for testing.

Instructions

    1

Attach the Souriau's power clamp to the positive battery terminal.

    2

Use a screwdriver to remove the carburetor ports, and attach the analyzer's rubber tubes to them by hand.

    3

Start the motorcycle, and allow it to warm up for about 10 minutes.

    4

Insert the screwdriver into the carburetor adjustment screws, and turn the screws to the left or right until the analyzer screen shows that the carburetor is balanced.

    5

Remove the analyzer tubes from the carburetor ports, and replace the port screws. Detach the power clamp from the motorcycle's positive battery cable.
