The Souriau Indiana 2440 is a digital inlet analyzer used to balance motorcycle carburetors. If the carburetor idles too high or too low, or doesn't seem to get the proper amount of pickup during acceleration, it's a sign that it may need to be balanced. The Souriau Indiana 2440 analyzer is powered directly by the motorcycle battery and connected to the carburetor port for testing.
Instructions
- 1
Attach the Souriau's power clamp to the positive battery terminal.
2Use a screwdriver to remove the carburetor ports, and attach the analyzer's rubber tubes to them by hand.
3Start the motorcycle, and allow it to warm up for about 10 minutes.
4Insert the screwdriver into the carburetor adjustment screws, and turn the screws to the left or right until the analyzer screen shows that the carburetor is balanced.
5Remove the analyzer tubes from the carburetor ports, and replace the port screws. Detach the power clamp from the motorcycle's positive battery cable.
