A surprising statement given all I hear from other 'green' sites is how diesel is so popular in Europe, putting hybrids to shame. And certainly in the US, Lexus hybrid sales are not exactly stellar.

But, Toyota stated that hybrid models proved "particularly popular with customers" in Europe. Toyota expects 6,100 sales in Germany and 60,000 in Europe next year for Lexus vehicles.
