Superbowl MVP Santonio Holmes selected a 2009 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Platinum as his car. This is the sixth time in eight years the MVP candidate chose a Cadillac (Brady has two and Manning chose a Hybrid Cadillac last year, Ichiro Suzuki picked a Chevy Tahoe Hybrid as his MVP prize) but Cadillac did not make a big deal out of the prize this year.

Most likely that's due to the possible backlash from the recent bailout and how the public might react to someone receiving a car worth $85,275.

"Given the current business environment, it was much more appropriate we not do that," Krell said in a phone interview. "We made the decision not to actively participate in the Super Bowl. We congratulate the MVP, it is a great achievement. We are very sensitive to the federal assistance loan we have received and we want to carry on our fiduciary responsibility. The Super Bowl was not a place for us to be this year. That is not to say it's not a great platform."

The 2009 Cadillac will begun production in a couple of weeks, and Holmes Cadillac will be delivered afterwards (the price includes the $950 destination charge).

The Platinum model includes a unique front end, Magnetic Ride Control and LED headlamps.
