If you wish to install a new PCM into your 1995 Dodge Neon, the only tool you will need is a socket wrench. The PCM, or powercontrol train module, is located in the power box of your Neon, located at the rear end of the Neon's engine compartment. If the PCM begins to malfunction, it is important that you replace it and properly connect its wiring harness. The entire procedure should only take ten minutes to complete.

Instructions

    1

Open up the Neon's hood and use a socket wrench to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.

    2

Lift off the power box cover and locate the PCM next to the fuel pump fuse.

    3

Disconnect the wiring harness from the PCM by squeezing the white plastic tabs and pulling it away from the PCM. Remove the PCM from the power box by pulling it out.

    4

Install a replacement PCM and reattach the wiring harness by clicking it into the PCM. If the harness does not make a clicking sound, the connection is not secure.

    5

Reattach the cover to the power box and reconnect the battery. Close the hood.
