How Do I Fix a Cigarette Burn on Headliners?

A car is an expensive investment, so it can be very frustrating to find a cigarette burn on a newly bought used car. It can be just as frustrating if a passenger or you burn the headliner with a cigarette. If the sight of the cigarette burn annoys you or your planning to sell your car there is a way to fix the burn without having to change the whole headliner.

Instructions

    1

Buy a permanent marker the same color as your headliner. Color the padding under the cigarette burn with the permanent maker. Make sure to cover the whole burn and around it, to help it look less apparent.

    2

Look at the fabric used for the headliner, find another part of the car where the same fabric is used. Cut a piece of that fabric from a place in the car that is hard to see to use as a patch. Cut the patch the same size as the cigarette burn. Avoid cutting it too big, or it will be more apparent when covering the burn.

    3

Put some solvent based glue on the back of the patch and some on the cigarette burn on the headliner. Place the patch on top of the cigarette burn. Make sure the design on the fabric matches the design on the headliner. Allow to dry for a few hours.
