The Yukon is a sports utility vehicle produced by General Motors that comes equipped with a factory-model radio. If you wish to install a two-way radio into your Yukon, you will need to remove the factory-model radio. Additionally, you will need to be certain that the two-way radio will fit into the radio compartment on the central dash of your Yukon. Once you have made sure of that, you can install the two-way radio within a matter of minutes.
Instructions
- 1
Open the Yukon's hood and use a socket wrench to remove the battery's negative terminal.
2Remove the four screws from the central dash surrounding the radio using a Phillips screwdriver.
3Pry the central dash off the radio using a flat-head screwdriver. Pull the radio out and disconnect its wiring connector. Remove it from the vehicle.
4Place the two-way radio into the dashboard and connect the wiring connector to the radio.
5Reattach the central dash and its screws. Reconnect the battery and close the hood.
