A mass airflow is a crucial component to the free breathing of your engine. A dirty mass airflow sensor can rob your vehicle of its power, and in some cases can trigger a false alert during an emissions test, causing your vehicle to fail. By following these steps you can ensure that your mass airflow sensor will remain clean and your vehicle will keep running smoothly.

Open the hood and locate your air box. Open the air box and move the assembly upward toward you.
2Take a flat head screwdriver and remove the four tabs holding in the assembly. Disconnect the wiring harness from the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Do not damage the wires. Remove the assembly. Locate the Mass Airflow Sensor and remove the screws securing it.
3Spray the wires thoroughly with electrical content cleaner. Avoid touching the wires. The wires are small and delicate.
4Reattach the mass airflow sensor to the assembly, securing it with the screws and four tabs.
