Wiring a stock CD player into your Dodge Dakota is a very simple process as the Dakota has an electrical wiring connector that can plug into the rear of the stock CD player unit. To access the unit, you simply need to remove a few screws using a Phillips screwdriver. The entire process is fairly simple and should not take more than half an hour to complete.
Instructions
- 1
Pull off the plastic dash trim around the edge of the radio. The trim is held in place by several clips, but those will pop out as you pull on it. Be sure not to damage the clips.
2Remove the two screws from the CD player with a Phillips screwdriver. Slightly pull out the unit.
3Connect the wiring connector from the central dash into the rear of the Dakota's CD player unit. Once the device is connected, push it back into the vehicle.
4Reattach the two screws and the dash trim. Make sure to place the clips back onto the trim to secure it.
