How to Peel Off a Parking Sticker

If your parking permit sticker didn't adhere that well to your car's windshield, it could fall off and get lost, leading to parking tickets and fines. Unfortunately, since they make the permits so adhesive, they are very difficult to remove, once they expire or are no longer necessary. Depending on the sticker, you may be able to peel it off just with your fingers, but it will often leave behind a difficult to remove residue or will rip as you take it off, leaving pieces of parking permit behind. A specific technique and a solvent are required.

Instructions

    1

Soak a section of a rag or paper towel with acetone-based nail polish remover.

    2

Work the nail polish remover around the corners and edges of the parking permit decal or sticker.

    3

Use the razor to start slowly removing the decal, starting from the corner.

    4

Apply the rag or paper towel soaked with nail polish remover to the newly exposed edges of the permit, if it stops coming off with the razor or if the permit rips and leaves parts behind.

    5

Scrape the permit with the razor, until all bits of the permit are gone.

    6

Soak a fresh section of the paper towel or rag with the nail polish remover.

    7

Scrub away any residue leftover with the rag or paper towel.
