How to Wire a Nissan Relay

Many of the electrical components on your Nissan car or truck are powered by devices called relays. Similar to fuses, relays tend to have larger power storage capacities and can regulate high voltage safely and efficiently. The relays in your Nissan are not "wired," but instead are connected inside the main relay panel by simply plugging them in. The main relay panel is located inside your engine compartment, typically near the battery. Relay installation takes about 5 minutes.

Instructions

    1

Open your Nissan's hood and remove your negative battery cable with your socket set.

    2

Use a screwdriver to remove the plastic screw holding the relay panels cover on and pull the relay panel cover off by hand.

    3

Find the relay you want to replace and pull it straight out from its socket.

    4

Plug the new relay back into its correct socket on your Nissan.

    5

Put the relay panel cover back on and then replace the plastic retaining screw to hold it in place.

    6

Replace your Nissan's negative battery cable.
