ForbesAutos.com and MSNBC.com put together a short story on the hottest hybrids for 2007. They probably should have labeled the story as the newest hybrids as it looks like their only criteria was which hybrid cars will be new (or newly redesigned) in 2007.

Their list includes the 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid, 2008 Lexus LS 600h L, Saturn Aura Green Line, Saturn Vue Green Line, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid / GMC Yukon Hybrid (A hybrid version of the Cadillac Escalade).

I wonder how successful any of these hybrids are going to be in 2007?

There is some interesting information in the article.
Hybrid vehicle sales catapulted more than 139 percent from 2004 to 2005 after increasing 81 percent from 2003 to 2004, according to R.L. Polk and Company. But they remain only slightly more than one 1 percent of the new-vehicle market.

California accounts for more than 26 percent of new hybrid registrations, with the L.A. area alone having 11.5 percent of 2005 registrations, according to R.L. Polk. It’s not just a West Coast trend, though: New York, Boston and Washington D.C. are also hybrid hot spots.
