How to Disable an Alarm for a 1997 Mystique

Disable the car alarm on your 1997 Mercury Mystique with your vehicle's remote or by removing the alarm fuses from the Mystique's fuse block located in its engine compartment. Do not disable the alarm for extended lengths of time, as it is helpful in preventing theft or unwanted entry of your vehicle. Disabling your Mystique's alarm is a simple process that only takes a few minutes to perform. If you remove the fuse, reinstall it if you wish to arm the Mystique's alarm system again.

Press "Unlock" twice on the key fob to turn off the Mystique's alarm. If you wish to completely disable the alarm, remove the fuses.

Open the Mystique's hood and remove the cover from the fuse block in the corner of the engine compartment.

Remove the fuses labeled "R24" and "R25" with a fuse puller. This will completely disable the alarm for the vehicle. To use the alarm again, simply reinstall the two fuses.
