Porsche is also in the motor racing season 2010 remains at the customer sport. The new Porsche 911 GT3 R, which comes complete ready to race to the customer replaces the 911 GT3 Cup S in the program by Porsche Motorsport.
The 911 GT3 R will be raced in series based on the international FIA GT3 regulations, at the start. The development focus was on improving driveability and easier handling of the vehicle. The 911 GT3 R features a 4-liter six-cylinder boxer engine Porsche 911 GT3 R is for racing forenoon 480 hp (353 kW). The force is transmitted from a sequential six-speed gearbox to the rear axle.
World Premiere
Its world premiere of the new Porsche 911 GT3 R at the Racing Car Show Autosport International in Birmingham (until 17 January). "Since the first announcement that we bring the 911 GT3 R on the market, we are seeing a very strong demand," said Uwe Brettel, Head of Motorsport Sales. "The planned annual production for 2010 is almost sold out."
Development base
The basis for development of the 1,200 kg lightweight 911 GT3 R is in September 2009 for one-make cup racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Thanks to an enlarged 0.2 liter engine capacity, the GT3 R delivers 30 hp more than the Cup car. Both race cars are built on the wide body of the street-legal 911 GT3 RS. The anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction control and an electronic clutch function used to Porsche makes 911 GT3 R for racing vordie getting used to the new GT3 race car than its predecessor to make it much easier and make the car even for ambitious amateur racers easily manageable .
Racing suspension
The flared wheel arches both front and rear show the comparison with the previous model enlarged track width out. The underbody of the vehicle is completely covered and a rear diffuser. The adjustment of the rear wing was increased in comparison with the previous model. The highly developed race suspension can be extensively adjusted: At the front are height-adjustable MacPherson struts with adjustable Sachs two-way shock absorbers and double coil springs (main and auxiliary spring) are used. Rear, the GT3 R features a height-adjustable multi-link rear axle with rigidly mounted axle brackets, adjustable Sachs two-way shock absorbers and double coil springs.
