In 1993, Toyota entered the realm of big pickups with a full-sized offering of its own, the T100. Experts received the T100 well, as it received awards from J.D. Power and Associates and Popular Science magazine -- the "Best Full-Size Pickup" and "Best of What's New" awards, respectively. Despite its popularity, the T100 was short lived, as Toyota released the bigger and more powerful Tundra in the 2000 model year. The 2004 Tundra came standard with an AM-FM CD-player stereo system, and replacing the Tundra's stereo is a fairly simple task.

Remove the three climate control knobs under the radio by pulling each one away from the panel. Each knob has a screw under it. Remove these screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
Adjust the vents on either side of the radio so they face as far up as possible. There is a screw at the top of each vent. Remove these screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
Pry around the perimeter of the radio bezel -- the trim surrounding the radio and heating controls -- with a flat-head screwdriver to disengage its retaining clips. Remove the bezel from the dash.
Remove the four radio-retaining screws using a ratchet and 10 mm socket. Slide the radio from the dashboard until you can reach the wiring on the rear of the radio. Press and hold the unlock button on the radio's wiring harness and pull the harness from the radio. Pull the antenna wire from the rear of the radio. Remove the radio from the Tundra's dash.
Plug the wiring harness into the rear of the new radio; listen for it to click into place. Plug the antenna wire into the rear of the radio.
Slide the radio into the dashboard, guiding the wiring in with it. Tighten the four radio-retaining screws with a ratchet and 10 mm socket.
Position the radio bezel so the metal clips on the rear of it line up with the slots in the dashboard. Press the bezel onto the dashboard until the clips snap into place.
Aim the vents upward to expose the screw holes on the top of them and replace their screws. Tighten the screw where the each of the three climate control knobs mount with a Phillips screwdriver.
Place each climate control knob so the asymmetrical hole on the rear of each knob matches up with its asymmetrical shaft and press the each knob onto its respective shaft.
