The blower fan motor speed switch on the 2003 Chrysler Town & Country rarely breaks, but if it does, it's a rather simple replacement. Before condemning the switch, check the blower motor resistor to ensure that it is working properly. When working with the control, take care that you don't break the plastic clips that hold some of the components onto the dash.

Instructions

    1

Disconnect the negative battery cable and set it aside, ensuring that it does not touch metal. Pull the cup holder out -- press the tab in the middle of the cup holder to release it. Remove the small plastic trim piece between the cup holder and the HVAC control panel/radio bezel. If you cannot not pull it off with your hands, pry it gently with a small flat-head screwdriver.

    2

Remove the two lower and upper mounting screws, using the Phillips screwdriver. Pull the HVAC control panel/radio bezel off the dash just far enough to reach the wiring connectors behind the HVAC control panel switches. Unplug the wiring harness connectors and set the control panel aside.

    3

Plug the wiring harness connectors into the new control panel switches. Position the control panel/radio bezel in place, then install the Phillips screws. Tighten them snugly, but do not over-tighten them, as you will break the plastic.

    4

Push the small plastic trim piece between the cup holder and the control panel in firmly, ensuring that the retaining clips snap into place. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Start the vehicle and test the control panel to ensure it works properly.
