Edelbrock is a premier manufacturer of high-performance auto parts. Currently, they manufacture water pumps for a number of American-made cars, including Chrysler, AMC/Jeep, Ford, Pontiac and Chevrolet. It is easy to identify Edelbrock parts -- they stamp the company name prominently right into the metal exterior of the pump itself, in raised lettering.
Instructions
- 1
Obtain the service manual or Chilton's parts guide for the vehicle in question. If you are not familiar with car repairs, you can use your parts guide or manual to help you find the water pump.
2Sit in the driver's seat in the vehicle.
3Look under the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel for the hood latch trigger.
4Pull firmly on the hood latch trigger. This will open the hood.
5Locate the water pump. This is where your Chilton's guide or owners' manual may come in handy.
6Look or feel around the top half of the water pump for the word "Edelbrock." If it doesn't say Edelbrock, it's not an Edelbrock water pump.
