The Ford Mondeo was a sedan manufactured by Ford and released in Europe, Asia, Mexico and Central America between 1993 and 1996. The North American version of the vehicle, the Ford Contour, was manufactured between 1993 until 2000. The heater blower in the Mondeo has four speeds. If one or more of the blower speeds does not work, it is likely the heater resistor pack, mounted under the passenger side dash, has probably blown out and needs to be replaced.

Instructions

    1

Open the hood and remove the Mondeo's negative battery cable with the socket set.

    2

Open the passenger door and then open the glove box. Push in on the side spring release clips until the Mondeo's glove box drops straight down.

    3

Reach into the glove box opening to the left and locate the resistor pack which is next to the fresh intake pipe.

    4

Unplug the plastic wiring harness connected to the Mondeo's resistor pack.

    5

Pry the pack loose from the spring mounting clip.

    6

Pop the new pack in place underneath the spring clip and then plug it into the electrical wiring harness by hand.

    7

Close the glove box and replace the vehicle's negative battery cable. Start the Mondeo, turn on the heater and try all four speed settings to make sure hot air blows from all of them.
