The 2010 Mazda 6, also known as the Atenza, is a mid-sized car manufactured by the Mazda Motor Company. One of the more popular after-market options for the Mazda 6 is the installation of splash guards or splash shields. Splash guards are small panels that go underneath the front and rear of the vehicle to protect it from dirt and mud. You can easily install your own splash guards in a few minutes using a drill and screwdriver.

Instructions

    1

Remove the splash guards from the packaging. The Mazda 6 already has pre-drilled holes in the rear fender for the rear splash guards, but you will need to drill holes for the front splash guards.

    2

Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws from the covers of the rear wheel wells. Remove the covers.

    3

Place the splash guards over the wheel well access panels and use the accompanying longer screws to install the splash guards to the wheel wells. Tighten the screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

    4

Remove the wheel well covers from the front wheel wells with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

    5

Place the splash guards over the front wheel wells. Use a drill to create holes in the plastic body of the Mazda 6 where there are no holes aligned with the splash guard. Install the accompanying screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
