When changing a blower motor in a 1995 Nissan Sentra it is important to test the motor itself to guarantee the failure exists within the motor. Although failures of the motor do present themselves, the most common of all failures related to blower motor operation is the blower motor resister. The resister, located directly to the left rear of the blower motor, is responsible for assisting in varying the fan speeds.
Instructions
- 1
Remove the glove box by removing the screws on both sides of the box using a socket and ratchet. Also remove the two bolts securing the striker to the center top of the box using the same tool. Pull the glove box out of the dash.
2Remove the under dash cover should one be present, using a socket and ratchet. Disconnect the electrical connector plugged into the blower motor.
3Squeeze and pull the rubber vent hose from the motor and leave the opposite end attached to the case. Remove the screws around the circumference of the blower motor that secure it to the HVAC case using a socket, short extension and ratchet. Lower the blower motor from the case.
4Install the new blower motor and the screws around the base with the same tools used for extraction. Plug the electrical connector into the motor. Push the vent hose into the hole in the side of the motor. Install the glove box. Install the blower under the dash cover.
