Cannot Open Volume For Direct Access in your USB Flash Drive
When you Try to Format.

Many of us has encounter this problem of unreadable usb flash drive.
So, I'll put down some symptoms and solution to solve this issue.

Symptoms in Windows XP SP2/SP3:

* Can see drive in "My Computer" but if you double click on drive in my computer, it says : "Please insert disc into Drive E:"

* Right click and select format and it says:
"There is no disc in Drive E. Insert a disc, and then try again"

* In My Computer (right click) -> Manage -> Disc Management:
"Disk 1
Removable (E:)

unreadable"


* In My Device Properties shows that the device is working properly, but under "Volumes" tab it says that Status = unreadable. Partition style = Master Boot Record (MBR).

* I Run MS Dos (CMD) To Format but the result is:

"Cannot open volume for direct access"
