Replace Crankshaft Pulley on Audi A4 and VW Passat

Note the radio security code and disconnect the negative battery cable.
On 1990-96 Passat models, detach the wheel well splash shield if it interferes with damper removal.
If necessary, remove the lower engine shield.
If
necessary, on A4 & 1998-00 Passat models, place the (hood) lock
