The alarm system of your 1996 Volkswagen Jetta is important in preventing the unwanted entry of your vehicle. It is also useful for preventing theft. If you wish to disable the Jetta's alarm system for some reason, you can do so using the Jetta's remote control or by simply removing the alarm fuse from the Jetta's fuse block.

Instructions

    1

Press the "Panic" button once or the "Unlock" button twice to turn off the Jetta's alarm system.

    2

Open the Jetta's hood. Locate the fuse block in the right-corner of the engine compartment.

    3

Remove the fuse block cover and locate the alarm fuse, which is the second fuse from the right, at the bottom of the fuse block.

    4

Use a fuse puller to remove the alarm fuse. Place the cover back onto the fuse block and close the hood. Reinstall the fuse whenever you wish to enable your Jetta's alarm system again.
