The water pump on the 1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager is located at the front of the motor. When the pump begins to leak or make noise then you need to replace it. The process is not that difficult, and in times when the economy is rough, you need to look in every direction you can to save a few dollars. There are no special tools required to do the job and it can be finished in a couple of hours.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal by loosening it with a wrench. Drain the engine coolant into the drain pan.
2Loosen the idler pulley with a socket and ratchet and remove the belt from the AC compressor.
3Loosen the alternator with a socket and ratchet and remove it and the belt.
4Remove the upper radiator hose by loosening the clamp with the screwdriver and pulling the hose off.
5Remove the AC compressor bolts using a socket and ratchet and without discharging the system, set the compressor off to the side.
6Disconnect the lower radiator and heater hoses by loosening the clamps with the screwdriver and pulling the hoses off.
7Remove the four bolts from the water pump using the socket and ratchet. There are three bolts at the top and one at the bottom. Pull the pump away from the system.
8Place the new pump and gasket on the water pump mounting surface and install the bolts. Tighten them snugly using the socket and ratchet.
9Install the heater hose and lower radiator hoses and tighten the clamps with the screwdriver.
10Reinstall the alternator and the belt. Tighten it up with the socket and ratchet.
11Remount the AC compressor. Reinstall the drive belts according to the diagram in the link in the Reference section. Tighten the belts by moving the idler pulley in place and tightening with a socket and ratchet.
12Reconnect the negative battery cable and tighten it up. Refill the radiator and reservoir with coolant and start the engine to check thoroughly for leaks.
