The emergency lights, also referred to as the hazard lights, on your Chevrolet Silverado are simply the turn signal lights operating simultaneously. The turn signal lights are a part of the headlamp assembly and wiring the emergency lights means wiring the headlamp assembly. The wiring procedure for the headlamp assembly is fairly simple and will not take you more than 15 minutes with the proper tools.
Instructions
- 1
Pull the hood-release lever to the left of the steering wheel.
2Raise the hood and use a socket wrench to disconnect the negative terminal of the Silverado's battery.
3Reach behind the headlamp assembly and locate the wiring connector. Plug it into the rear of the the assembly until it locks into place. Repeat this step with the headlamp assembly on the other side.
4Reattach the negative terminal to the battery and close the hood.
