If you find that one of your Nissan Altima windows is chipped or cracked, you should make an immediate repair so the damage does not worsen. With liquid resin and a few supplies, you can turn the repair into a quick do-it-yourself project. Knowing how to make this sort of repair when necessary may benefit you in the future.
Instructions
- 1
Mix mild soap with water. Use the sudsy solution to wash down the damaged window, being sure to rinse and dry it before moving on.
2Locate the damage and attach the suction cup stabilizer to the window. Place the bottom of the stabilizer over the cracks, and then carefully press it onto the glass with the cracks enclosed underneath.
3Insert the tube filled with resin into the injector tube.
4Push the injector tube into the suction cup stabilizer. It will have an open port for the injector.
5Pull out the injector. This will leave the resin tube behind and the liquid resin will begin to flow out of the tube due to the suction you have created.
6Wait 15 minutes or longer for the resin tube to empty. The cracks will now be filled and repaired.
7Carefully remove the stabilizer from the window.
8Cut and stick the adhesive strips over the resin to help it harden and keep the resin from spreading out of the cracks. Do not remove the strips until the resin has hardened for several hours.
